NT: Bid swing to Labor in NT poll =2

After three hours of counting, the two possible outcomes appeared to be a Labor victory
with 13 seats or a hung parliament with two independents.

Four Aboriginal candidates - all Labor - are assured seats, a record for any Australian
parliament.

With no independent polling in the lead-up to election, the swing as come as a shock
to most observers.

Opposition leader Clare Martin had almost ruled out victory earlier today, after 27
years of CLP rule.

Neither Mr Howard or Oposition Leader Kim Beazley have played a role in the two-week campaign.
